Project description

Autonomous electrification systems are a very suitable option to provide electricity to rural communities in developing countries. The advantage of on-site production and distribution is that it saves costs and facilitates the long-term sustainability of projects by leveraging local resources. Among the many possible technological options, wind-solar hybrid systems is an increasingly used option, but their design is complex. In this context, the objectives of this project are to develop methodologies for evaluating energy resources and more efficient design tools in the field of provision of electrical services at community level in rural areas of developing countries. In addition, tools and manuals are developed that facilitate the use of the methodologies developed in the project promoters.
